New Name Contest Update
June 20, 2009
The final six new name suggestions have been decided upon and are listed below. Because they are all very different and very good, again, we need your input. We have gone over each of these possible names considering: We have to wear it on our shirts! We have to answer the phone! And you have to tell your friends, "We are going to _____".
So here we go again. Please choose your favorite new name suggestion and let us know what it is. There are printed forms available at the restaurant. You may also use our email at info@GloryDaysSportsPub.com or use our comment page at Comments page. Add any comments that you’d like to. Thank you for your continued support. We appreciate you, your time and your opinions.
- Retrospect — dictionary meaning: to
reminisce. We like it because we fondly remember the good old days of
the 49ers and other great sporting and historical events. (Also, the
decor in the place is very retro!)
- Creighton Place — This is our last name,
pronounced Cray ton. We like this one because it
sounds like Peyton Place, an old TV show that revolved around
a small-town community similar to Morgan Hill.
- FanFare — dictionary meaning: cheering,
ovation often with trumpets. We like this one because of the double
meaning. 1) the literal definition and 2) the reference to fan
(sports and of the establishment) and fare meaning "food" or
"menu".
- Days of Glory — This is an obvious choice
and we are still checking out possible future conflict about it. We
believe that we can get around this by adding Creighton or
Morgan Hill to the name. (We still prefer Glory
Days.)
- Double Overtime (2 OT) — We like it
because overtime is always great, no matter what
sport or team. Secondly, Double is a reference to our "second
time around".
- DD Creightons — We like this one because there won’t be any legal trouble with any other business, ever! It has the positive connotation of a fun place (i.e. DB Coopers) and when you add restaurant or sports pub, it says it all!
